How did your collaboration with San Lò and with Anna and Lucrezia begin?

The collaboration came about quite naturally thanks to the efforts of Martina Gamboni, founder of Strategic Footprints. It was Martina who put us in touch and introduced us to Anna and Lucrezia, allowing us to discover their new collection of sofas.

From our very first meeting, we found a strong creative connection: our shared goal was to rethink the fabrics and colors of the furnishings, combining our industry experience with their design vision. From this synergy and the exchange of ideas with Anna and Lucrezia, a research process emerged that led to the definition of a new chromatic and material identity for their pieces, celebrating the craftsmanship and contemporary aesthetics of San Lò.

What was your first impression of the brand and its vision?

Our first impression was of a brand with a very clear vision: to create contemporary sofas that aren’t cold. San Lò immediately struck us as a project that pays close attention to proportions, comfort, and the idea of a lived-in, authentic home—not designed to impress, but to last.

What was the starting point for defining San Lò’s color palette?

The starting point was the checkered fabric, conceived not merely as a covering but as a defining element of the design. We worked with four colors—green, blue, red, and hazelnut—chosen for their balance of character and versatility. From there, the palette expanded to include the color of the wooden frame, designed to interact with the fabric and create different yet always cohesive combinations, resulting in a customizable yet instantly recognizable sofa.

Are there any colors or color combinations that best capture the spirit of San Lò?

Yes, it is precisely these combinations that capture the essence of San Lò. The checkered pattern, available in shades of green, blue, red, and hazelnut, takes on a different character depending on the color of the wooden frame. Some combinations are more understated, others more bold, but all share the same sense of balance: a sofa that expresses personality without sacrificing comfort and warmth.

How did you strike a balance between brand identity and contemporary trends?

We used current trends as a lens through which to interpret the present context, without letting them dictate the design. Our work focused on developing a color palette and material selection that align with San Lò’s identity, designed to ensure durability and recognizability over time.

In your opinion, what makes this design different from other sofas on the market?

Consistency. Every choice—from fabrics to colors—is designed to enhance the project as a whole. Nothing is decorative for its own sake: everything contributes to creating distinctive, balanced sofas that are designed to truly fit into people’s homes.
